America, I pray for you

Since I am at home I have a chance to do a lot more reading and listening than I have done in a while. I am so sickened over the state of affairs in our country right now. Our new president is digging the hole deeper that our democratic congress has gotten us into- no it was NOT Bush who did this.

Talk of bailing out foreclosed homes by the governmnent??? Paying a mortgage can be tough at times but it is not up to the government (meaning us who pay taxes) to bail everyone else out. And now for those who have saved and made deposits into the bank may not be covered by FDIC insurance! As I sit and watch our retirement slide into non-existance I try to save more in the bank but now I wonder about that.....

Don't get me started on unions- another hot button of mine. They had a time and place but that time has come and gone. And now an attack on freedom of speach. All I can say is Obama must feel he has something to fear from Rush Limbaugh if he is so busy using his and other socialist energies to attack him. I keep asking myself what if it was Bush who was saying and doing these things? He would be struck immediately. He could not make a mispronunciation without being attacked- Obama has made plenty of them and I have never heard our media attack him or even mention is foibles once.

So easy to get caught up in all of this and then so easy to turn the TV off, ignoring what is happening and go about my life with business as usual. I am afraid that is what too many Americans are doing. Ignoring it until it is too late and the America we love will be gone. Wonder how long it will take people to wake up?

The word hope has had a lot of airplay since Obama's been around. Putting hope in this man is not cutting it. I will lean on Proverbs 3:5 and so many other promises and will put my hope and trust in the Lord with all my heart. Watching the current scene is a great reminder to me of the evil in man. I must keep reminding myself of the assurance that He is in control and I will pray that Americans can see the true changes we need to make and learn to trust in the real and only hope, our God. I wonder what our founding fathers would say about the mess we have made of this great nation. I wonder what we will say when this life is over and we meet our Creator face to face.

Thank you for your post. I am totally baffled and dismayed on what has happened in such a short period of time. Our country and its freedoms are on a downward slide. Government is stepping in and doing things that are unconstitutional (e.g., bailouts), and citizens are verbally attacked and told to hush if they point it out.

I fear that our best days are forever behind us unless the citizens raise up and put a stop to all of this nonsense. The government representatives work for us, not the other way around. I am praying more than ever before for our country and its future.

I may have given up television, but not radio. Yes, I own one. It's true what people are saying...we don't recognize our country in these very short weeks. It's beyond frightening.

Agree (for the most part) with your post! I can't let former President Bush off the hook. As far as I am concerned, there hasn't really been a bit of difference in the 2 parties for quite awhile now. BOTH parties are doing their bit to usher in the global world that the Bible tells us will be in effect when Jesus returns. Everything is falling into place at a frantic pace.

You might want to check out this link: They have a daily radio program called "Politics and Religion" which really puts the current events into Biblical perspective! Here is the link to listen or download the daily broadcasts. Let me know what you think...

I've been praying for our country daily too. I listen to talk radio while I paint and I'm so concerned and can't believe what is going on right before our eyes.

These are troubling times for sure. It is puzzling to me how the media is still bashing Bush but Obama can do no wrong. I'm keeping my hope and trust focused on the One who is truly in control...God.

I think we all have to step up to the plate and take a little piece of the blame. No it is not Bush's fault but he sure didn't help matters. And no Obama can't save us but with the help of the American people I hope this can become a better country. I myself think God has a huge hand in this....we all need to suffer a little to see how good we have it here. Somewhere, sometime, WE, the people have to stop blaming and start taking some of it

I'm so happy to have found your blog. I agree with what's going on with our country, but am so thankful that God is in control. What of those poor people who have no hope? Maybe this is God's way of getting our focus back on Him. It sickens me the way people literally worship Pres. Obama. So very sad.

Hello I just came across your name over at Debra's...what a great post, I so agree with you. The man now in charge promised "change" and the people swallowed that hook, line and sinker. What a sorry a mess huh ??? And that Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank how can they sleep at night...

God help us all,
Kathy :)
