Still here

I say that life takes twists and turns. It has. I have spent a lot of time with my dear dad since Thanksgiving. His battle against lymphoma took a turn for the worse at Thanksgiving. I was so fortunate to be able to be there for chemo treatments, etc. Despite his determined fight he lost the battle on Super Bowl Sunday. He was 79. The heavy snow and massive power outages due to fallen trees kept all of us from reaching him in the hospital for two days. We were so blessed to all be at his bedside when he passed away. Although unable to speak, we are sure he knew we were there.

There are many decisions to be made. Unfortunately blogging is not high on my list of priorities at this time. It does look as if mom will be moving in with us. Now SHE is THE decorator so....I am hoping together we will be quite a team and will enjoy sharing our fun with Blogland in the near future!

Good to see you here, but understand completely about blogging not being priority.

The weather certainly did complicate things for your family. Joining you in being so glad that you were able to be there with your father. He may well have been waiting for you. My heart and my prayers go out to you and your family at this time.

Sounds as if there will be big changes coming. I know that with humor and grace, even big changes won't seem so insurmountable.

God's comfort and richest blessings be with you and yours.

I was so glad you were able to be with your Father at the end. My Dad gave us quite a scare over Christmas. He is 87. I am thankful for every day I have with him.

Looking forward to hearing about your new adventures with your Mother. Full circle, indeed...

(Enjoy all your posts on Facebook!)

So sorry to hear of your father's passing. I just lost my elderly father at the end of November and so I can feel your pain. How nice of you to be able to open your home to your mother. I'm sure that will help to ease her pain as well. Take care and take time to grieve.

Sue, I'm wishing you, your Mom and the rest of your family God's comfort as you adjust to losing your father, if that is ever possible.

You and your Mom will be blessings to one another, as my Mom and I are to each other:-) Somehow life goes on.

Sue, God bless you! Thanks for your comment on my site about Brin's blog. It doesn't bother me about the negative comments; I rather enjoy them in a funny way. I also know that moms like me understand so much more than the younger women. They kinda wear those shoulderchips on their fingertips. Thanks for supporting Brin over the years. Before I began blogging myself, I saw many wonderful comments from you. You've been so sweet to her, and I appreciate that. I'll put my mug on FOLLOW.
Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad last June, so I know how it is. Hope you and your mom enjoy decorating together. I'm also copying your husband's peanut brittle recipe. Looks delicious!
